Dot Wallet - KSM & DOT

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 27, 2026

This policy explains how the Dot Wallet app for iPhone and iPad (“the app”) and this website handle information. The short version: Dot Wallet is non-custodial. We do not run accounts, we cannot see your recovery phrase or private keys, and we do not sell data.

1. Keys and recovery phrases

Your recovery phrase and private keys are generated and stored only on your device, protected by the iOS Keychain and Secure Enclave where available. They are never transmitted to us or any third party. If you lose your device and your recovery phrase, nobody — including us — can restore your funds.

2. Information we do not collect

  • No account, name, email address, or phone number.
  • No recovery phrases, private keys, or passcodes.
  • No contacts, photos, or location.
  • No advertising identifiers and no third-party analytics or tracking.

3. Network requests

To show balances and send transactions, the app connects to public Polkadot and Kusama network nodes and their parachain networks, and uses CoinGecko for prices and price charts. These requests include your public wallet addresses, which are already visible on the public blockchain. Node and price providers may see your IP address as with any internet request. Transactions you sign are broadcast to the public network and are permanent and publicly visible.

4. Camera

If you use Scan, the app asks for camera access to read QR codes. Images are processed on the device and are not stored or sent anywhere.

5. Data stored on your device

Wallet names, public addresses, token list, and preferences are stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes this data. Keychain items may persist according to iOS behavior until you remove the wallet in the app.

6. Crash reports

If you opt in to share diagnostics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with anonymized crash reports. These do not contain your keys or recovery phrase.

7. This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking. It does not create accounts, connect wallets, or show balances. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and operations.

8. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Your rights

Because we do not hold personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, or delete. You control all wallet data on your device and can remove it at any time.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. Material changes will be reflected in the app’s release notes.

11. Security

The app uses on-device encryption and iOS security features to protect wallet data. You can enable Face ID or Touch ID to unlock the app and approve transactions. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so keep your device updated and your recovery phrase offline.

12. Third-party services

The app relies on public blockchain nodes and public price sources, and is distributed through Apple’s App Store. These services operate under their own privacy policies. We do not share any data with them beyond what is needed for the request your device makes.

13. International users

Because we do not collect personal data, no personal data is transferred across borders by us. Requests your device makes to public nodes may be served from servers in other countries.
